Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Colombo
Day 1

Arrival and Transfer

You will arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport. A representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you here and bring you to your hotel in Colombo, the commercial capital of the island. The journey will take you about 30 minutes. Spend some time relaxing at the hotel and then venture out to discover the myriad of appeals in this dazzling city! A city tour covering Gangaramaya and Seemamalakaya Temples, Galle Face Green and Independence Square will be arranged for you today.

Day 2 - Sigiriya

Transfer from Galle to Sigiriya

Today you will be travelling to the Cultural Triangle where an array of attractions awaits to be explored. Start the day early with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. The journey from Colombo to Sigiriya will take you around four hours so you must have an early start to the day. Once you reach the hotel in Sigiriya, spend some time leisurely and then prepare to climb the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress which was built by King Kasyapa who ruled the island between 477-495 CE.

Day 3 - Sigiriya

Explore Sigiriya

The day will be spent in Sigiriya today so have a leisurely breakfast. We will be visiting the famous Polonnaruwa ancient city today. Polonnaruwa was the second kingdom of the ancient kings in Sri Lanka. There is a remarkable array of well-preserved ruins to admire in this great city. A safari tour in the Minneriya National Park which provides shelter to large herds of elephants will also be arranged for you today. Return to the hotel at night and have some rest.

Day 4 - Sigiriya

Explore Sigiriya

This is your third and final day in the Cultural Triangle. Today you will be visiting Anuradhapura ancient city, which was the first capital of the medieval kings of Sri Lanka. After a thorough exploration in the region you will also visit Pidurangala Rock and Ritigala Sanctuary. A tour to the Dambulla Cave Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site will also be included in the travel itinerary of the day. Get some rest when you reach the hotel in the night.

Day 5 - Knuckles Mountain Range

Transfer from Sigiriya to Knuckles Mountain Range

The spectacular Knuckles Mountain Range will be explored today so start the day early with a good breakfast and check-out of the hotel in the morning. The journey from Sigiriya to Knuckles Mountain Range will take approximately 3.5 hours. Check-in to the hotel and get some rest and then prepare to brave the heights of this magnificent destination! There will be nature walks, treks and hikes arranged for you today so wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Return to the hotel in the evening and relax.

Day 6 - Kandy

Transfer from Knuckles Mountain Range to Kandy

We will be travelling to the grand city of Kandy today after your breakfast. The journey will take approximately two hours. The proud city was the last capital of ancient kings in Sri Lanka. You will visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, where a relic of a tooth of Buddha is enshrined. It is a famous site of worship in the country Udawattakele Sanctuary, Commonwealth War Cemetery as well as the temples of Gadaladeniya, Lankathilaka and Embekke will be explored during your city tour.

Day 7 - Hatton/ Maskeliya

Transfer from Kandy to Hatton/ Maskeliya

After your breakfast you can check-out of the hotel in Kandy and travel to Hatton and Maskeliya. The journey will be of 2.5 hours. Here you will find the famous Adam’s Peak which is also called Sri Pada. It is a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site in the island. The indent on the rock at the summit is believed to be Buddha’s. We will trek in the mountain and reach the summit in time for the sunrise. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Day 8 - Nuwara Eliya

Transfer from Hatton/ Maskeliya to Nuwara Eliya

The enchanting city of Nuwara Eliya will be explored today. You will be leaving the hotel in Hatton after breakfast. The journey from Hatton to Nuwara Eliya will take about one hour. After reaching the hotel you can rest for a while and then embark on a city tour. We will arrange tea factory and tea plantations visits today for your pleasure. Waterfalls, Horton Plains National Park, World’s End as well as the Pidurangala Mountain will be included in the travel plans of the day.

Day 9 - Ella

Transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Ella

We will visit the mesmerizing town of Ella today which is immensely popular among tourists. Once you reach the hotel in Ella, you will be able to spend some time relaxing. We will then take you to see the Little Adam’s Peak, Ella Gap as well as the Nine Arch Bridge. The Ravana Falls and Ravana Cave where Sita the consort of Lord Rama, is believed to have been held captive by Ravana after she was abducted from India, will also be explored today.

Day 10 - Udawalawa

Transfer from Ella to Udawalawa

We will be journeying to Udawalawa today from Ella. The total travel time for the day will be around two hours. The world famous Udawalawe National Park will be explored during the day. You will get the chance to spot large herds of wild Sri Lankan elephants as you embark on this exhilarating safari tour. The Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home will also be included in your travel itinerary of the day. Return to the hotel when night falls and get some much needed rest.

Day 11 - Southern beach

Transfer from Udawalawa to the southern beach

The mesmerizing shores of the southern coast of the island will be your next stop. We will leave Udawalawa in the morning and reach the city of Galle in approximately 2.5 hours. Spend the day idling upon the dazzling shores and admire the rich beauty of the region while savouring delicious local fare at the many quaint beach restaurants. Watch a golden sunset when evening comes and breathe in the freshness of the night breeze before you return to your cosy hotel room to rest.

Day 12 - Galle

Explore Galle

The full day will be spent in Galle today, so you can start the day with a leisurely breakfast. You will be visiting the world famous Galle Fort which was built by the Portuguese back in the year 1588 when they invaded the island. The fort was extensively fortified by the Dutch during their occupation of the land. There are many people of Dutch origins still living in colourful communities within the fort. It really is a remarkable attraction that well deserves a visit!

Day 13 - Galle

Explore Galle

This will be your third and final day in the city of Galle as well as the final day of your tour in Sri Lanka. Have an early breakfast and set off to explore the wonders of the region to your heart’s content. You will visit the famous Turtle Hatchery of Galle where you will get the chance to meet the team that works tirelessly to ensure the welfare of sea turtles. A whale and dolphin watching tour will also be arranged for you today.

Day 14 - Bandaranaike International Airport

Transfer from Galle to Bandaranaike International Airport

You will be leaving our beautiful paradise island today with fond memories! You can have a leisurely breakfast and pack your bags. A representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you at the hotel when you are ready to leave to the airport. The journey will take about two hours. Once you reach the airport safely we will say our goodbyes, until the we meet again!
