Our 6 Nights/ 7 Days Ramayana Tour covers some spectacular sites that are linked to the Hindu epic Ramayanaya. According to the legend, King Ravana abducted Sita, the consort of Lord Rama after his sister’s nose was sliced off by Lord Rama’s brother Lakshmana. He then brought Sita here to Sri Lanka and kept her a prisoner until he was defeated in battle against the troops of Lord Rama which were led by monkey god Hanuman. There are many sites of historical significance scattered throughout the island that you will be able to visit during this tour. Our aim is to provide each of our clients a well-rounded tour in the island, so we will take you to see remarkable attractions like Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Temple of the Tooth Relic and Galle Fort during this epic excursion. Day 1 - Dambulla
Day 1

Arrival and Transfer

You will be arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake where a representative of Tangerine Tours will meet and greet you. After this, you will be travelling to the beautiful town of Dambulla in the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. On the way we will be stopping at Munneswaram Temple and Manavari Temple which are important sites of worship among the Hindus in the island. You can check-in at the hotel upon arrival and have some time to rest.

Day 2 - Dambulla

Explore Dambulla

Start the day early with a hearty breakfast at the hotel and set off to explore the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress which many say is the 8th Wonder of the World! You will be ascending to the zenith of this majestic rock to discover its spectacular charm in the morning. In the evening, we will take you to the Dambulla Cave Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will see an array of beautiful statues of Buddha.

Day 3 - Nuwara Eliya

Transfer from Dambulla to Nuwara Eliya

Have a good breakfast at the hotel and prepare to travel to the beautiful city of Nuwara Eliya in the Hill Country of Sri Lanka. On the way we will stop at the world famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where you will get to see a large herd of Sri Lankan elephants. You will also be stopping at the grand ancient capital of Kandy. Here you will be visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most prominent places of worship in Sri Lanka.

Day 4 - Nuwara Eliya

Explore Nuwara Eliya

Start the day nice and early, and prepare to explore the glorious territories of Nuwara Eliya! Today you will be visiting places that are connected to the Hindu epic Ramayana. Our first stop will be Sita Amman Temple where statues of Rama and Sita can be seen and admired. You will also visit the beautiful Hakgala Botanical Gardens where Ravana is said to have kept Sita imprisoned. The Divurumpola Temple where Sita underwent the ‘Agni Pariskha’ will also be covered today.

Day 5 - Kataragama

Transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Kataragama

You will be travelling to Kataragama from Nuwara Eliya via the picturesque town of Ella. While travelling in this mesmerizing region, you will be visiting Ravana Ella where Ravana kept Sita imprisoned. Points of interest like Ella Rock and Ella Gap will also be covered on the way. You will visit the famous Katagaama Temple in the evening, which is a prominent site of worship among the Buddhists, Hindus as well as the Vedda community. Return to the hotel and get some rest at night.

Day 6 - Bentota

Transfer from Kataragama to Bentota

We will travel to the enchanting town of Bentota in the southwest coast of Sri Lanka in the morning. En route we will stop at Ussangoda which is a place that is mentioned in the Ramayana. It is believed that this place was used by King Ravana as a landing strip for his Pushpaka Vimana. Once you reach the hotel in Bentota you can get some rest and then set off to explore the city of Galle which is guarded by the majestic Galle Fort.

Day 7 - Bandaranaike International Airport

Transfer from Bentota to Bandaranaike International Airport

After a delightful adventure, it is now time for us to say our goodbyes! We will pick you from your hotel in Bentota and take you to the Bandaranaike International Airport in time for your flight back home, with the fondest wishes of seeing you very soon yet again!
