Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Negombo
Day 1

Arrival and Transfer

Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will meet a representative of Tangerine Tours. You will then be taken to the hotel in Negombo. Check-in and get some much-needed rest. You can explore the stunning beauty of the surrounding region in the evening. There are plenty of great beach restaurants that you can dine at in Negombo.

Day 2 - Wilpattu

Transfer from Negombo to Wilpattu

After breakfast at the hotel in Negombo, you will have to check out and prepare to leave to Wilpattu. The journey will take approximately three hours, so start the day early. You will get the chance to camp in Wilpattu today! It will surely be an experience that you will not forget. Wilpattu National Park is the largest national park on the island. Elephants, leopards and sloth bears can be seen in the park.

Day 3 - Wilpattu

Exploring Wipattu

This day too will be spent at Wilpattu National Park. More safari tours will be arranged today. After your exhilarating safari tours, you will get to spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4 - Sigiriya

Transfer from Wilpattu to Sigiriya

After breakfast, you will be leaving the camp in Wilpattu to travel to Sigiriya. En route, we will stop at the world-famous Anuradhapura Ancient City to witness the stunning ancient architectural marvels and monuments. Check-in at the hotel after the tour in Anuradhapura and prepare to explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which was built by King Kasyapa who ruled in the island between 477 and 495 CE.

Day 5 - Sigiriya

Explore the Cultural Triangle

The full-day will be spent admiring the marvels in the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. Start the day with a leisurely breakfast and prepare to explore the beauty of Polonnaruwa Ancient City. Later in the day a safari tour in Minneriya National Park, which is famous for its population of elephants, will be arranged. Return to the hotel at the end of the day and get some rest.

Day 6 - Elkaduwa

Transfer from Sigiriya to Elkaduwa

You will be travelling to the picturesque village of Elkaduwa today. After breakfast at the hotel, check out to be on your way. En route, we will stop at Dambulla Cave Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once you reach the hotel in Elkaduwa, you can spend a quiet day of rest, taking in the beautiful sights and sounds of the village life.

Day 7 - Elkaduwa

Exploring Elkaduwa

The full-day will be spent in Elkaduwa. A delightful village tour will be arranged to give you the chance to witness the splendid beauty of the island life. Nature walks which are arranged today will enhance your knowledge about the flora and fauna of Sri Lanka. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for these treks! After your enchanting tours, you can return to the hotel and get some much-needed rest.

Day 8 - Kandy

Transfer from Elkaduwa to Kandy

We will be travelling to the breathtaking Hill Country of Sri Lanka today. The city of Kandy is the destination that will be covered within the day. The majestic Temple of the Tooth Relic, where a relic of a tooth of Buddha is enshrined will be visited today. You will also get the chance to witness a colourful traditional dance performance and end the day in style!

Day 9 - Nuwara Eliya

Transfer from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

The picturesque city of Nuwara Eliya is your next destination in your adventurous tour in Sri Lanka. During the day, insightful tea plantation tours will also be arranged. A tour in the city of Nuwara Eliya, covering its prominent sites of interest is also arranged for your pleasure today. At the end of the day, retreat to rest at your hotel.

Day 10 - Nuwara Eliya

Exploring Nuwara Eliya

The full day will be spent in Nuwara Eliya. The world-famous Horton Plains National Park is your first stop for the day. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. Keep in mind that it can get very cold there as well. You will have to have a hearty breakfast so you will not feel weary during the journey! The beautiful Lover’s Leap Falls will also be visited during the day.

Day 11 - Ella

Transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Ella

Today we will be visiting Ella, which is known to be one of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka! You will get the chance to enjoy a scenic train ride from Nanuoya to Ella too! Once you reach Ella, you will explore the top attractions of the town, such as Little Adam’s Peak and Belihuloyua. After your enchanting tours, return to the hotel and get some rest.

Day 12 - Yala

Transfer from Ella to Yala

The southern coast of Sri Lanka is your next area for exploration! After your breakfast in Ella, prepare for the long journey to the coast. On the way, we will be visiting Kataragama and Sellakataragama Temples, which are incredible sites of worship in the country. After reaching the hotel, check-in and get some rest.

Day 13 - Yala

Exploring Yala

You will wake up to an exciting day of adventure! Today, you will be exploring Yala National Park, which is the second-largest and the most popular national park in the country. It has one of the highest leopard densities in the world too! Wear comfortable clothes for the tour as the climate here can be rather hot. You will most likely see elephants, sloth bears and of course, the majestic leopards during the check-in.

Day 14 - Udawalawe

Transfer from Yala to Udawalawe

You will be visiting the world-famous Udawalawe National Park today. Have a hearty breakfast and prepare to leave the hotel nice and early. During your safari tour in the national park, you will most likely get the chance to spot large herds of Sri Lankan elephants. After the safari, return to the hotel and enjoy some rest.

Day 15 - Sinharaja

Transfer from Udawalawe to Sinharaja

The gorgeous Sinharaja Rain Forest is your next destination! It is a remarkable place to witness bird life in Sri Lanka. An exciting night walk will also be arranged in the rainforest to give you the experience of a lifetime! Come prepared to face lots of leeches!

Day 16 - Galle

Transfer from Sinharaja to Galle

The iconic city of Galle will be explored today so after breakfast at the hotel in Sinharaja, prepare to travel to the south. Today you will get the chance to visit Galle Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built by the Portuguese and then extensively fortified by the Dutch. The Galle Fort is also known as Galle Dutch Fort and the Ramparts of Galle. After your visit, spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 17 - Galle

Exploring Galle

You will get to spend the full day in the city of Galle. An exciting whale watching tour will also be included today! This will give you the chance to witness the mesmerizing splendour of the great creatures of the depths of the sea. After your adventurous tour, return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day basking in the charms of this iconic colonial city.

Day 18 - Bandaranaike International Airport

Departure

The final day of your tour has dawned! A representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you when it is time to go to the airport. We will then bid you adieu with fond hopes of seeing you again soon!
