You will be arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport where a representative of Tangerine Tours will meet and greet you. You will then be taken to the village of Sigiriya in the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. En route, we will stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. You will also get the chance to visit the world-famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site today.
The full day will be spent admiring the remarkable attractions in the Cultural Triangle so start the day with a good breakfast! In the morning we will visit Minneriya National Park which is famous for its population of Sri Lankan elephants. After your exhilarating safari tour, you will be taken to Polonnaruwa Ancient City where a myriad of stunning ancient ruins can be seen and admired.
Today we will be leaving the hotel in Sigiriya and travelling to the ancient capital of Kandy. So pack your bags, check-out and start the long journey to the hills of Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Tooth Relic, where a tooth of Buddha is enshrined is included in the itinerary of the day. Your temple visit will end with a stunning cultural show. The charming city of Nuwara Eliya, which many call ‘Little England’, is to be explored today. After breakfast embark on a scenic journey through the hills. On the way, we will stop at the gorgeous Ramboda Falls. A tea factory and tea plantation tour are included in the itinerary of the day. A city tour in Nuwara Eliya which covers famous colonial buildings and the glistening Gregory Lake will also be arranged.
Check out of the hotel in Nuwara Eliya right after breakfast and prepare to embark on a long journey to the southern coast of Sri Lanka. On the way, we will stop at Ravana Falls to admire its rich splendour. You will be enjoying an exhilarating safari tour in Yala National Park today. The park is known to have one of the highest leopard densities in the world! After the safari, rest at the hotel in Yala.
The city of Galle is in your travel itinerary today! Check out of the hotel in Yala after breakfast and enjoy a leisurely drive which will bring you to this majestic colonial city. Today you will be visiting the Galle Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A visit to the turtle hatchery will also be included in the plan for the day. Lounge by the sea in the evening and spend a few golden hours of perfect relaxation.
