You will arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport where a representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you. You will then proceed to your hotel in the beautiful city of Negombo which is located in very close proximity to the airport. After checking in at the hotel, you can spend the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be visiting the famous Muthurajawela Wetlands in Negombo. 102 species of birds which includes one endemic species can be spotted here. After your delightful birding tour, you will return to the hotel and spend the evening at leisure.
After having your breakfast at the hotel you will check out and leave to Wilpattu. En route, we will visit the Aanavilundawa Birds Sanctuary. Later in the evening, we will arrive at the hotel in Wilpattu. After checking in you can spend the day admiring the rural charm of the region.
Today you will be exploring the world famous Wilpattu National Park. It is the largest national park on the island. Species such as painted stork, open bill, little cormorant and Sri Lankan junglefowl are quite easy to spot here. The national park is home to elephants, sloth bears as well as Sri Lankan leopards. After the exhilarating game drive, return to the hotel and enjoy some much-needed rest
Check out of the hotel in Wilpattu after your breakfast and prepare to travel to the quaint village of Sigiriya. En route, we will stop at the beautiful Ritigala Sanctuary which is one of the most charming archaeological sites in the country. After your insightful tour, you will be taken to the hotel in Sigiriya. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, admiring the beauty of the surroundings.
Today you will be visiting the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which many call the Eighth Wonder of the World. It is best to visit this site in the morning hours, so, start off with an early breakfast. The majestic rock fortress is believed to have been built by King Kasyapa who ruled the island between 477 and 495 CE. During the visit, you will also get the chance to do some loris watching
You will be leaving Sigiriya today to travel to the picturesque village of Elkaduwa. The journey will take you around two hours, so you can start off with a leisurely breakfast. Once you reach Elkaduwa, you will be taken to the enchanting Knuckles Mountain Range. Here you will find approximately 200 species of birds including dusk blue flycatcher, white-faced starling and small barbet.
Today too you will be trekking in the Knuckles Mountain Range. Start the day with a heavy breakfast and prepare to explore the misty terrains of this enchanting destination to your heart’s content. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You can carry extra layers of clothes to put on if you wish as the climate here is rather cold.
We will be leaving Elkaduwa to travel to Nuwara Eliya today. The journey will take around 3.5 hours. Once you reach the hotel in the city you can check in and get some rest. You will be exploring the charming Udawattakele Sanctuary today. Around 80 species of birds have been recorded here. Common hill myna, Crimson-fronted barbet, brown-headed barbet and the brown fish owl can be spotted with ease here.
After having your breakfast at the hotel you will be leaving to Kitulgala. This is one of the best places on the island for adventure sports enthusiasts. Here you will get the chance to enjoy the exhilarating thrills of white water rafting! After your delightful expedition, return to the hotel and get some much-needed rest.
Today you will explore the forests of Kitulgala to your heart’s content. A number of endemic bird species in the country can be spotted in this region. Serendib scops-owl, brown hawk-owl, black capped-bulbul and Ceylon hill myna are some of the most commonly spotted birds in the area. After your birding tour, you can return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
You will be leaving to Colombo, the commercial capital of the country today right after breakfast. After reaching the hotel in the city you can get some rest and then prepare to explore the famous wetlands in the area such as Seethawaka and Thalangama. After the delightful excursions, you can return to the hotel and enjoy a charming evening exploring the wonders and attractions of the city.
The final day of your tour in Sri Lanka has dawned so pack your bags and check out of the hotel. A representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you and take you to the Bandaranaike International Airport in time for your flight back home.
