Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Negombo
Day 1

Arrival and Transfer

You will be arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, where a representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you. You will then be taken the coastal city of Negombo, which is located about 15 minutes from the airport. Take some time to rest and relax before venturing out of the hotel to discover the unique appeals of this stylish region. There are plenty of beautiful churches to see in the city as well as many quaint beach restaurants.

Day 2 - Yala
Day 2

Transfer from Negombo to Yala

We will be travelling to Yala today so start the day early with breakfast at the hotel. The journey will take you about two hours. On the way we will also stop at the Galle Fort which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once you reach Yala, you can prepare to embark on a thrilling safari ride in the iconic Yala National Park, which has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Kataragama and Sellakataragama religious sites will also be explored today.

Day 3 - Ella

Transfer from Yala to Ella

The picturesque town of Ella is your next stop. A scenic train ride will bring you to the glorious territories of Ella in the morning. You will be able to get some rest once you check-in to the hotel. When you are ready for exploration, we will take you to see some of the prominent attractions of the region. Places like Little Adam’s Peak, Ravana Ella, Ravana Cave and Nine Arch Bridge will be covered today. Return to the hotel to rest for the night.

Day 4 - Ella

Explore Ella

The full day will be spent in Ella, exploring the town’s many attractions. Ella is indeed a picturesque town that is wrapped in ethereal charm. So, when you do set off to explore the region, be sure to take your cameras with you. The cold climate of the Hill Country makes exploratory tours quite enchanting indeed! Do wear comfortable shoes and clothes when you set off to explore the region so that you will be able to enjoy a good travel experience with ease.

Day 5 - Nuwara Eliya

Transfer from Ella to Nuwara Eliya

As soon as you have your breakfast at the hotel in Ella, you will prepare to leave to Nuwara Eliya. A beautiful journey of about two hours will bring you to this enchanting city which many call ‘Little England’. You can spend a day of rest in the city or explore the key attractions of the region. You will be spending another day in the city so return to the hotel early to enjoy a good time of leisure with your travel partners!

Day 6 - Nuwara Eliya

Explore Nuwara Eliya

The full day will be spent in the beautiful city of Nuwara Eliya so have a leisurely breakfast. We will arrange a tea plantation and tea factory visit for you today to give you the opportunity to learn about the tea culture in the country. We will visit a few waterfalls during the day and schedule a visit to Horton Plains National Park where the World’s End is located. Return to the hotel in the evening to get some much needed rest.

Day 7 - Kandy

Transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy

Today you will get the chance to witness the grandest religious festival in Sri Lanka! After breakfast you will leave the hotel in Nuwara Eliya and take the three hour journey to reach the sacred territories of Kandy. The Kandy Esala Perehara, which is the annual procession of the Temple of the Tooth Relic, takes place today. You will get to see the richness of the culture and heritage of Sri Lanka today as you gaze in awe at the spectacular performances!

Day 8 - Cultural Triangle

Transfer from Kandy to Cultural Triangle

As soon as you have your breakfast at the hotel you will be travelling to the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. You will reach the beautiful village of Sigiriya in about 2.5 hours. Once you reach the hotel, unpack your bags and get ready to explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress! This magnificent attraction is indeed one of the most popular places of interest in the island. There are stunning boulder gardens, terraced gardens, frescoes and a mirror wall to admire here.

Day 9 - Cultural Triangle

Explore Cultural Triangle

You will have an action packed day planned out so start with a great early breakfast! We will be exploring the ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa today. Polonnaruwa was the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka. There are many well preserved ruins that you will get the chance to see today. The famous Dambulla Cave Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site will also be included in the travel itinerary of the day. A safari in the Minneriya National Park will also be arranged.

Day 10 - Trincomalee

Transfer from Cultural Triangle to Trincomalee

The enchanting eastern coast of the country will be explored next. You will have your breakfast at the hotel and leave to Trincomalee. The journey will take you roughly two hours. Once you reach the hotel in Trincomalee, get some rest and venture out to explore the region. You will be doing a city tour in Trincomalee today and visit famous sites like Koneswaram Temple. The evening will be spent in the beautiful beaches of Nilaveli. Return to the hotel at night and rest.

Day 11 - Trincomalee

Explore Trincomalee

You will spend the full day in Trincomalee so have a leisurely breakfast and prepare to travel to the famous Pigeon Island which is one of the two marine national parks in Sri Lanka. You will be able to enjoy snorkelling and scuba diving here. A thrilling whale and dolphin watching tour will also be arranged today for your pleasure. Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure as you will be on your way again tomorrow.

Day 12 - Anuradhapura

Transfer from Trincomalee to Anuradhapura

Start the day with an early breakfast and travel to Anuradhapura which was the very first capital of ancient Sri Lanka. You will reach this city in two hours from Trincomalee. Once you reach the hotel, spend a few hours relaxing and resting. When you are ready to explore the region, we will take you to the sacred city of Anuradhapura. Mihintale monastery, Kalawewa Tank and Aukana Buddha Statue will also be explored today.

Day 13 - Colombo

Transfer from Anuradhapura to Colombo

The glitzy capital of Colombo is your next stop. Have breakfast at the hotel and check-out of the hotel in Anuradhapura. You will be reaching Colombo in approximately four hours. Once you reach the city, check-in to your hotel and give yourself some time to rest. You can then set off to explore the city of Colombo on foot. The evening will be spent in the beautiful Galle Face Green. Return to the hotel at night and have prepare for the flight back home.

Day 14 - Bandaranaike International Airport

Transfer from Colombo to Bandaranaike International Airport

You will be leaving our gorgeous island today! Be ready with your bags and one of our representatives will come to pick you from your hotel in Colombo and take you to Bandaranaike International Airport. Once you reach the airport safely, we will big you goodbye until we meet again!
