You will arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake. A representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you there. You will then be travelling to Negombo, which is located 20 minutes from the airport. Take time to rest and relax in this gorgeous coastal city which boasts of a colourful personality. You can also opt to enjoy a city tour in Negombo if time permits. After having breakfast, you will travel for approximately 5.5 hours to reach Yala. En route you will also stop at the iconic Galle Fort, which is a World Heritage Site. Once you arrive at your hotel in Yala, you can enjoy a few hours of rest and then embark on a thrilling safari tour in Yala National Park. This world famous destination has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. During the day you will also be visiting Kataragama and Sellakataragama religious sites.
Today you will be travelling from Yala to the picturesque town of Ella in the Hill Country of Sri Lanka. Upon arrival at your hotel, you can rest for a while and then venture out to explore this stunning town’s rich appeals. The soothing climate of the region will indeed enthral you as will its spectacular sites. You can opt to explore the Little Adam’s Peak, 9 Arch Bridge, Ravana Cave as well as Ravana Falls during the day.
Today you can further explore the magnificent attractions of Ella if you desire. If you wish to rest and relax, you may do so by all means too. The breathtaking landscapes of Ella make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the island. You can have your breakfast at your hotel and be on the road again, this time to visit the idyllic city of Nuwara Eliya. Surrounded by rolling hills and resplendent with shimmering waterfalls, this gorgeous destination is often called ‘Little England’. Beauty lurks in every corner of this stunning city so you really must embark on a few exploratory tours. The journey from Ella to Nuwara Eliya will only take two hours so you will have plenty of time to explore the city upon arrival.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and step out of the cosy shelter of the hotel to explore Nuwara Eliya’s stunning attractions. You will leave your hotel in Nuwara Eliya after breakfast to visit the majestic ancient city of Kandy. The journey will take you only about 2.5 hours. Upon arrival you can take some time to rest and then go on and visit some of the key attractions in the city. Places like the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Udawattakele Sanctuary and Commonwealth War Cemetery will be explored during the day. You will also witness a spectacular cultural show and end the day in style.
After breakfast, you will leave your hotel in Kandy to travel to the enchanting Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. You will travel for approximately three hours today. Once you arrive, you will be taken to Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built by King Kaspaya who ruled in the island from 477- 495 CE. The site is indeed an architectural marvel! As you admire its territories you will indeed be awed by the grandiosity of Sri Lanka’s heritage!
The full day will be spent in the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka so that you will get the chance to admire its myriad of stunning appeals. The beautiful ancient city of Polonnaruwa will be visited today. The site has many well preserved ruins and rock carvings. Dambulla Cave Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is also included in day’s itinerary. If you are travelling in the dry season, a safari tour in Minneriya National Park will also be arranged.
You can enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel and travel to the stunning city of Trincomalee in the north east coast of Sri Lanka. The journey will take only about two hours. Once you reach your hotel, you can opt to rest for a while, drinking in the pure loveliness of this exotic region. There are many famous attractions and beaches to visit in Trincomalee so prepare well for the exploratory tour which will take place on the following day.
The breathtaking Pigeon Island which is one of the two marine national parks of Sri Lanka will be visited today. You can enjoy snorkelling and scuba diving to your heart’s content during your visit to this picturesque island. Whale and dolphin watching tours can also be arranged today. Travel around the city and discover its stunning attractions such as Koneswaram Temple before going to the beautiful Nilaveli Beach to rest as the evening stars appear in the skies.
After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel to travel to the regal city of Anuradhapura, which can be reached in two hours from Trincomalee. Once you reach this magnificent destination, you can travel around and discover its iconic appeals. Anuradhapura was the first capital of the ancient Sinhalese kings. Places like the Sacred City, Mihintale monastery, Kalawewa Tank and Aukana Buddha Statue which are included in your itinerary vividly display the grandiosity of this city’s glorious past.
You will be travelling from ancient capital of Anuradhapura to the present commercial capital of Colombo today. The journey will take about 4.5 hours. Once you reach your hotel in the city, take some time to rest and relax. You will get the chance to admire the vibrant beauty of this multi-cultural city today as you embark on exciting city tours. You can visit the beautiful Galle Face Green as the sunsets and watch the night life of the city slowly come alive.
After breakfast in Colombo, you will travel to the city of Negombo which is located in close proximity to the Bandaranaike International Airport. If you have a few hours to spare before your flight home, do take the chance to explore the attractions of this stunning coastal city.
