Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Colombo
Day 1

Arrival and Transfer

You will arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport where a representative of Tangerine Tours will meet you. Then you will be taken to the buzzing city of Colombo on the west coast of Sri Lanka. You will be able to spend the full day relaxing in your comfortable hotel. Simply enjoy the luxuries at your hotel and unwind. Get some much-needed rest before your journey across Sri Lanka begins the very next day.

Day 2 - Colombo

The glorious city

Wake up to a warm morning and enjoy a great breakfast. Once done, set out to explore the city of Colombo. Head over to the ever-popular fort in Colombo and walk amongst the locals while you get to know the culture a little better. Make your way from there to the Independence Square where Independence Day celebrations are held most of the time. The Gangaramaya Temple is yet another place on your list today.

Day 3 - Anuradhapura

Transfer from Colombo to Anuradhapura

After exploring a bustling city in the west coast of Sri Lanka, you will be heading north on a 4-hour journey to Anuradhapura. Often known as the sacred city, it is believed that the place is of great spiritual significance. On your way, you will be visiting the Munneswaram Kovil. Next, you will tour around the city of Anuradhapura itself marvelling at its hidden gems and inspired by the unique culture here.

Day 4 - Trincomalee

Transfer from Anuradhapura to Trincomalee

Today, you will be leaving the sacred city of Anuradhapura and moving toward the northeastern coast on a 2-hour drive. The culture in this part of Sri Lanka is also unique. Experience this through the religious places you will be visiting, namely; Koneswaram Temple and Mihinthale Monastery. Trincomalee also boasts lovely beaches with golden sands and light blue waters that cannot be missed! Nilaveli beach is just one of them that you will be visiting today.

Day 5 - Trincomalee

More of wonderous Trincomalee

As the sun rises across the horizon, a new day full of excitement arrives and today you will be visiting a temple and a very special island too. Thiriyaya temple is of great importance to locals as it is an ancient temple that has stood the test of time. Later in the day, you will be taking a boat ride across the lagoon to Pigeon Island. This island is a tiny mound of land that belongs to Sri Lanka. It is the perfect place to have some fun by the beach.

Day 6 - Sigiriya

Transfer from Trincomalee to Sigiriya

Today, you will be leaving Trincomalee and visiting yet another ancient city of Sri Lanka, Sigiriya! Once you’ve arrived at the hotel, leave your baggage, freshen up and take off once again to explore Polonnaruwa. Marvel at the archaic ruins that are the remnants of the past since hundreds of years ago.

Day 7 - Sigiriya

Enjoy Sigiriya

Another day has dawned and you’ll be enjoying the wonders of Sigiriya today as well. Today you will be going, first thing, to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climb the mighty rock and soak in the magnificent views from the very top of the rock surface. Next, Minneriya National Park will be visited. If you are an animal lover too, then here is your chance to catch a quick view of some rare animals here.

Day 8 - Kandy

Transfer from Sigiriya to Kandy

Today will surely be even more exciting with what’s scheduled on the agenda for you! Dambulla Rock Cave Temple is a place that you simply cannot miss and that’s why we’ve added it to your list of places to visit today. The Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy is a renovated place among the locals, especially the Buddhist devotees. You will be left in wonder at the fine architecture here. Later on, you will be able to witness a traditional dance too.

Day 9 - Kandy

Yet another day in Kandy, there is much to see and do in this lovely city. When it comes to ancient temples, Sri Lanka’s got plenty for you. Today you will be visiting a few temples that will simply leave you in awe with at the skillful sculptures of Lord Buddha. Next, you will be visiting a botanical garden where the vibrancy of nature is sure to bring you soul peace.

Day 10 - Nuwara Eliya

Transfer from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Rise up early today, have a hearty breakfast and set off further higher into the mountains towards Nuwara Eliya. Once there you will be visiting a tea factory where you will learn about this reviving drink in detail. After your excursion across the estate, you will set out on a tour of the city of Nuwara Eliya. The place is quite scenic and the weather is chilly, so you’ll never be bored.

Day 11 - Bandarawela

Transfer from Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawela

It’s the dawn of a new day and an exciting one at that. Why? There’s a whole new adventure waiting out there for you today. Leave your hotel early and catch the train Nanuoya and you’ll be in for a delight. There couldn’t be a better way to get to Bamdarawela than a scenic train ride! Arrive at this beautiful destination in the hills of Sri Lanka and check into your hotel. Later, visit Little Adam’s Peak climb your way up to be rewarded with a breath-taking view.

Day 12 - Yala

Transfer from Bandarawela to Yala

It’s time to leave the mountains of Sri Lanka and head south today. On the way to Yala, you will make a stop at Ravana Falls which is known to be one of the widest waterfalls in the world. Also, the next stop will be at the Nine Arch Bridge. This is a piece of colonial history which was built using British engineering techniques. A scenic place indeed! Buduruwagala is the next spot of interest where serene sculptures of Lord Buddha lie on a massive rock wall.

Day 13 - Yala

Become one with nature

Had a comfortable night at your hotel? Well, you are off today for yet another encounter with nature. Make your way to Yala National Park and you are sure to be inspired by nature in its raw form. If you are lucky enough, you might even spot one of the endangered Sri Lankan leopards, sloth bears and various species of birds too.

Day 14 - Galle

Transfer from Yala to Galle

Today, you will be heading to one of the most famous tourist spots in Sri Lanka, the city of Galle. Since Galle is popular for its well-built fort, that’s where you’ll be off to first. Take in the splendid views of the ocean and simply enjoy these moments in the warm breeze. You’ll also have the opportunity to try out the art of stilt fishing, let's see how good your catch for the day will be! In the evening head over to the Turtle Hatchery and send off the tiny baby turtles off to sea.

Day 15 - Galle

Ocean visits

Wake up to a beautiful day in the city of Galle in the comfort of your hotel room and prepare for another long day ahead, not on land but this time out at sea! You’ll be sailing across the ocean in a boat to visit the beasts of the deep blue. You are sure to have an enjoyable day spotting whales and friendly dolphins too.

Day 16 - Bandaranaike International Airport

Today you will be leaving Sri Lanka, a representative from Tangerine Tours will pick you up from the hotel and accompany you to the airport. We hope you’ve had a lot of fun on your two-week tour on the island. Please do come again for more fun and exploration.
