Day 1 - Negombo
Day 1

Arrival and Leisure

Once you’ve arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, you’ll have a warm welcome by a representative of Tangerine Tours. From here, you’ll be guided to your hotel in Negombo. Take the day to rest and revive your energy for the exciting adventures to come starting the following day! Beach hotels on the coast of Negombo offer rich golden beaches with clear blue waters lapping against its shores with the perfect weather for some relaxation.

Day 2 - Kandy

Transfer from Negombo to Kandy

Rise early and be prepared for the beginning of your exploits in Sri Lanka. Your first transfer will be to the ancient city of Kandy which is about a 3-hour drive from Negombo. Keep your eyes peeled throughout the journey as the route is certainly scenic! Check into your hotel first and then set off to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. You’ll be visiting the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic as well and will even be treated to a show of traditional dance.

Day 3 - Kandy

Discover Kandy

Eat up well for breakfast as some of the most wonderful things about Kandy are best experienced on foot. That’s why, today, you will be taking things slow and relaxed with a nature walk. Take some time to admire the natural beauty of the rich verdure of the surroundings and set your mind at peace. After a mellow day spent out, return to the comfort of your hotel and unwind making sure to get plenty of rest for the next day.

Day 4 - Hatton

Transfer from Kandy to Hatton

You’ll be leaving early morning towards an even more mountainous part of the island, Hatton. The journey from Kandy will take about 2 hours and 20 minutes across the misty hills. Feel the change in temperature the air grows thinner and cooler as you gather altitude and edge closer to your destination with every winding road you take. Arrive at the hotel and maybe take the time to check out what luxuries they offer. Take the rest of the day to relax and enjoy your stay.

Tea in Hatton

Wake up to a wonderful sight of mist-covered mountains with crepuscular rays of sunshine escaping from beneath the clouds in the skies. Enjoy a hearty breakfast and afterward, its time for a leisurely walk across the neat rows of tea shrubs. You might even learn a thing or two about this popular drink that is said to be second only to water. Don’t forget to snap away at the spectacular scenery as you explore the tea estate.

Unwind in Hatton

It’s the dawn of yet another slow and relaxing day in Hatton. Spend some time in the seclusion of your warm and comfortable hotel away from the bustling streets. Lose yourself in the serenity of the landscape and try out some great leisure activities available at the hotel. Maybe some respite at the spa would help ease the tiredness from the days spent exploring.

Day 7 - Yala

Air Taxi Transfer to Yala

Check-out of your hotel in Hatton today as the time has come for a quick trip to the southern region of the island. If the thought of what Hatton might look like from above ever crossed your mind during your stay here, then you are about to see it yourself! Hop onto your special flight due south to Yala and be awe-inspired at the magnificent sight as you take off to your destination. Check into your hotel upon arriving in Yala and spend the rest of your day relaxing.

Day 8 - Yala

A visit to the wild

Yala offers cool mornings and warm, humid weather in the daytime. Head over for breakfast and set out on a day of exploration in the wild of Yala. Get as close as possible to the exotic animals during your safari at the Yala National Park. You are sure to come across the sloth bear, leopards, elephants and many other species lurking about in the wilderness.

Day 9 - 11 - Galle

Transfer from Yala to Galle

The time has come to leave the wilderness of Yala behind and set off towards the coast, to yet another ancient city, Galle. The journey will be quite long, about 4 hours approximately. The route will allow you a glimpse at life on the shoreline of Sri Lanka. While being a touristy area with its many attractions, Galle also offers a wonderful beach scene for some relaxation and fun once you’ve checked into your hotel.

Day 12 - Bandaranaike International Airport

Make sure your bags are packed and nothing is left behind as it is time to say goodbye to this tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean. While on your journey back with a representative of Tangerine Tours, you’ll have fond memories of the days gone by to recall.
