Once you’ve arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, you’ll have a warm welcome by a representative of Tangerine Tours. From here, you’ll be guided to your hotel in Negombo. Rise early and be prepared for the beginning of your exploits in Sri Lanka. Your first transfer will be to the ancient city of Kandy which is about a 3-hour drive from Negombo. Keep your eyes peeled throughout the journey as the route is certainly scenic! Check into your hotel first and then set off to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. You’ll be visiting the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic as well and will even be treated to a show of traditional dance.

The time has come to leave the wilderness of Yala behind and set off towards the coast, to yet another ancient city, Galle. The journey will be quite long, about 4 hours approximately. The route will allow you a glimpse at life on the shoreline of Sri Lanka. While being a touristy area with its many attractions, Galle also offers a wonderful beach scene for some relaxation and fun once you’ve checked into your hotel.
Make sure your bags are packed and nothing is left behind as it is time to say goodbye to this tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean.
