 01 Day

You will be met by a Tangerine Tours representative on your arrival at the Airport. Thereafter transfer to Colombo the capital city of Sri Lanka.

Afternoon city tour in Colombo, including shopping.

Colombo - A drive through the city will take you to the Fort and Pettah - the commercial area of the city and tree-lined Colombo - 07 Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 3, 4, 5, 8 are the prime residential area of the City. Visit Fort, and Pettah for Shopping. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street, lined with goldsmith's shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendaal, dating back to 1749. The historic Davatagaha Mosque, Independence Hall, B.M.I.C.H, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square. Visit the Mlesna exquisite tea boutique, cashew nut shop and all sorts of ready made garments at Majestic City & Liberty Plaza. Visit the Lanka Ceramics Center, a place where you can buy "NORITAKE SET" or other ceramic items and visit the "ARENA" at Darley road and "ODEL" at Lipton circus.

After Breakfast transfer to Kandy. En route visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.

* Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage - Started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded, the orphanage has grown to be a big family today. A unique experience never to be missed.

Afternoon commence city tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Arts and a crafts Centre, and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

* Kandy - the hill capital. Venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism’s influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple’s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.

* Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession.

Evening view a cultural show featuring various dance types of Sri Lanka.

 03 Day

After Breakfast visit Royal Botanical Garden

* Royal Botanical Gardens - Peradeniya  147 acres in extent; Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Kandy.  There are more than 5000 species of trees and plants. Some rare and endemics as well as flora from the tropical World.  Spice Garden and Orchid House are popular with tourist’s.

Therefore proceed to Nuwara Eliya, en route visit a tea factory and estate.

* Nuwara Eliya - The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations.  It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night.

All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence.  Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions.

 04 Day

After Breakfast spend the Day at leisure or do the below excursions available

Horton Plains / Hagalla Gardens / Playing Golf / Boat Ride at Gregory Lake / Climbing Siripada [During season time] / Hiking through Tea plantation / Single tree Mountain Climbing.

Horton Plains -  The highest plateau at 7000ft (2134 meters)  is a National Park, visited by tourists and a large number of Sri Lanka tourists The Patnas in the lower parts, rising from the Marshes and streams extends upto the tree-line.  The trees, stunted by the wind and mist, covered with ‘Spagnum moss ‘ or old man’s beard, and the jungle is full of rare and endemic plants. The red flowered  Rhododendrons, or the ‘Niloos’ that blooms once in 12 years, and the Butterflies, Birds, found only in the hill areas, the ‘Bear Monkey,’ large herds of Sambhur, Leopard and other animals are found in the plains.

The ‘World End’ and ‘Little World End” with sheer drops of 3000ft to the plantation below and the beautiful scenery, are not found anywhere else in the country.

After Breakfast transfer to Kaluthara / Bentota stay via Kithulgala, If you wish we could arrange White water rafting at Kithulgala.

Kithulgala The Kelani River [The broadest river in Sri Lanka] flowing through Kithulgala was the main location where the Oscar winning movie “ Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed. On the hill above this town, a prehistoric cave was recently discovered containing large middens of shells from some unknown civilization.
