Royal Palms Beach Hotel

Royal Palms Beach Hotel has 124 a/c rooms including four Executive Suites and two Royal Suites all with private balconies or patios with sea views. The well-furnished rooms are have individual a/c, satellite TV, mini-bar, room safe, hair dryer and 24 hour room service. The ensuite bathrooms are fitted with bathtub and h/w shower. The spacious Suites have lounge and private dining area. A unique free-flow lagoon-like swimming pool with massage jets and Jacuzzi, children's pool and pool bar is ideal for relaxing. There is a choice of venue for dining: the main restaurant with its indoor a/c dining room or an outdoor terrace which serves Sri Lankan and international cuisine; The Palmetto Coffee shop, located next to the swimming pool, which serves light meals and snacks; and the Oriental Seafood Restaurant which specialises in South East Asian cuisine. Relax at the nightclub-cum-bar overlooking the pool. A wide range of sports facilities includes floodlit tennis courts, table tennis, squash, volleyball, and fitness club with massage. The lounge area offers indoor games including chess, billiards, a cyber café, and library.

Vivanta by Taj Bentota

There are 156 rooms including - Standard and Deluxe Rooms and three Presidential Suites with some overlooking well laid out, award-winning gardens. The Governor's Wing rooms are furnished with colonial-period antiques including twin or double beds, with soft furnishings in paisley prints. The newer golf wing rooms are furnished in slightly more modern fashion and overlook the picturesque Nuwara Eliya golf course. All rooms have ceiling fans, and most have fireplaces although these days an electric heater is lit in its place on a cold night. The ensuite bathrooms have baths and h/w showers. The 65 Deluxe Rooms also include TV with local channels and minibar.

Light House Hotel

St. Andrew’s has 52 rooms located in the Golf Wing and Nuwara Eliya wing. There are 40 Standard Rooms, seven Family Rooms and five Suites all of which are comfortably furnished and have ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers and heaters on request. The spacious Suites and Family Rooms are furnished with antique period furniture and are equipped with telephone, TV, mini bar and bathrooms with baths and h/w showers. The room upgrades to a Suite option, is reasonably priced and well-worth considering. Each room offers a view of the distant mountains and lush vegetation-clad hills.

The Fortress

Five types of accommodation are available, including rooms, lofts and residences. All rooms are furnished with sumptuous 7ft. x 7ft. super king-size beds dressed in Egyptian cotton linen and an additional day bed that can be used for a child. Each room has a/c and overhead fan, Plasma TV, Bose DVD player and sound system, in-room safe, IDD phone, Espresso machine, and private bar. The ensuite bathrooms have rainfall showers and baths. A swimming pool curves around the gardens of the hotel and is magical at night with wondrous mood lighting. Ayurveda is taken seriously at the Fortress with extensive facilities. The well-equipped gymnasium and the Aquum Spa occupy one entire wing of the hotel.

Saman Villa

Saman Villas consists of 26 elegantly furnished suites housed in two-storey chalets located on both sides of the rocky headland, providing spectacular sea views. Each suite is designed to give a sense of privacy and seclusion. All suites come with a balcony or a terrace with a small garden, day bed, dining table, lounge area, sleeping deck, dressing room, and ensuite bathrooms with exquisite white marble floating bathtubs and open-air shower. All suites have a/c, overhead fans, CD player, LCD panel TV, internet access, hair dryer, mini bar and safe. Some of the deluxe suites have private swimming pools with breathtaking views of the ocean.

Tangerine Beach Hotel

Tangerine Beach Hotel has 166 Deluxe and Standard rooms and seven Suites including a Presidential Suite. All rooms and suites open out to private balconies and beautiful views of the Indian Ocean and garden. In-room facilities include individually controlled air-conditioning, overhead fans, 24 hour room service, and ensuite bathrooms with bath and h/w showers. The 150 air-conditioned rooms are close enough to the ocean for guests to fall asleep to the crashing waves and flapping palm fronds. Citrus Hikkaduwa

54 brightly furnished a/c rooms possess plasma-screen TV, IDD telephone, safe, music channel, tea & coffee facilities, bathroom with shower and balcony or terrace facing the sea.A good-sized swimming pool has a stirring aspect over Hikkaduwa's broad and golden sands. The Waves restaurant has both eastern and western food and a nightly theme menu. There are two bars. TV lounge, souvenir and jewellery shops, water polo, volleyball, table tennis, and darts. The Reef also catches Hikkaduwa's informal mood with a small nightclub and bar where there is also controlled access for non-residents.

Mount Lavinia Hotel

275 ensuite rooms and suites are situated in the Governor’s Wing, Bay Wing, and Sea & Garden Wings. All rooms have a/c, satellite TV, mini bar, 24-hour room service, laundry and valet service. Other facilities include several indoor and outdoor bars, the Little Hut nightclub - often with live music - the Coconut Spa that offers a range of relaxing therapies, Yoga classes, a gym and other sports facilities include mini-golf, pool, beach volleyball and table tennis.

The Beach Hotel

There are 75 Deluxe Rooms and three Suites which are beautifully laid out with ensuite bathrooms and balcony or ground floor terrace with sea views. All rooms and suites have individually controlled airconditioning, IDD telephone, satellite TV, DVD/CD player, mini bar, tea/ coffee making facility, electronic safe and hair dryer. Other facilities include a fully equipped conference facility and business centre with internet, modern gymnasium, tennis and squash courts, billiards and table tennis and two swimming pools.

Hotel Club Dolphin

Club Hotel Dolphin, situated on 14 acres of beachfront scattered with lush tropical foliage, underwent and extensive refurbishment of its restaurants and beach villas in 2010.The hotel has 151 rooms made up of 99 Deluxe rooms, 50 Beach Villas and two suites. Red Dot recommends the recently refurbished Beach Villas. The main restaurant serves Sri Lankan and continental cuisine, buffet style.There is also a fine-dining seafood restaurant and five bars. The hotel has two swimming pools, one of which is gigantic and skirts around the rooms and the pool bar.Activities include water aerobics, river kayaking, archery, cycling, tennis, squash, beach volleyball, croquet, horseback riding along the beach, soft-ball cricket, mini-golf etc.

Browns Beach Hotel

Browns Beach Hotel offers 135 rooms. 25 of these rooms - called the Beach Rooms - were completely refurbished in 2006. The beach rooms have direct access to the beach.The two restaurants overlooking the beach offer international cuisine and Sri Lankan rice and curry. Seafood BBQs and special dinners are organized on the beach according to guest's wishes. The beach bar and night club comes alive at nights. Other facilities include a new Ayurveda centre with an extensive menu of massages, beauty treatments and flower baths using natural products and herbal oils.

Nilaveli Hotel

There are 43 Deluxe and standard a/c rooms with private balconies or terraces which are perfect for lounging or spotting birds and the occasional monkey on the tree tops. The indoor restaurant serves a set menu of Sri Lankan and western dishes and is laid out in buffet style. The poolside garden restaurant opening out to the sea has an a la carte menu and serves a range of light snacks, seafood specialties including prawns, crab, and lobster and alcoholic beverages. Beach BBQs are organized on Saturday nights under a starlit sky. There is also an indoor bar and spacious lounge area opening out to the tropical gardens scattered with tall margosa trees. Other facilities include a swimming pool set amidst shady trees, tennis courts, beach volleyball, PADI scuba diving centre (only during the season from April – October), sport fishing and boat excursions to Pigeon Island.
